PRESS RELEASE On January 14, 2017, Zaman Co Ltd held a meeting with our schools’ parents, students, staff and board members to brief them about the Company’s recent updates. The company’s major share is now owned by Her Excellency Chea Sophakanny, the new Chairwoman. Representing the new Chairwoman, and as the Honorary Chairman, H.E. STATEMENT OF THE CAMBODIAN HIGHER EDUCATION ASSOCIATION On Monday, 22 August 2016 the senior diplomat of Turkey to Cambodia renewed his meeting with the senior diplomat of Cambodia and once again orally requested the Royal Government of Cambodia to shut down Zaman School and University in Cambodia. Zaman School and University are private establishments legally authorized by Cambodia to invest in the education sector and a member of the Cambodian Higher Education Association and is being in the operation of training students in compliance with the law of Cambodia. As far as the Cambodian Higher Education Association is concerned, the request to close Zaman private educational establishment made by the senior diplomat of Turkey without clear evidence is yet of appropriate nature according to the law of Cambodia and poses apprehension for the future of Cambodian students who are learning in this educational establishment. The Cambodian Higher Education Association hereby calls on the management, staff, workers, teachers, professors, students and parents as well as guardians to kindly remain calm and proceed with their teaching and study on a regular basis and leave it to the Royal Government of us to settle. Statement by Zaman Co, Ltd. to respond to the news regarding the accusations during the press conference organized by Turkish Embassy on 18.07.2016. Based on the media coverage of the press conference, we have a necessity to inform the public and answer some questions to clarify the confusions. Firstly, as Zaman Co Ltd, we strongly condemn the coup attempt in Turkey that happened on 15 July, 2016. We strongly believe in democracy, and we think that governments should be formed through a process of free and fair elections; we are against any military interventions. Everyone in Turkey as well as its partners and friends will suffer a lot from this heinous attempt. We are saddened by the groundless accusation of us, the schools which have been operating for almost 20 years, being linked to this kind of heinous coup attempt.
